Drums need a bit of work, and the low vocals are going to be ran through a vocoder but you get the idea.

The intro riff is tricky to capture. It's muted pull offs so it can sound a bit muddy with everything going. Can you hear what is going on? Or should I overdub a clearer take?

Sounds slightly mudy, but its not too bad.

Also I would bring the vocals slightly up in the mix and the drums slightly down.

Really cool song tho.
:thu:

I think I may ad an EMG81 track for the intro and the repeat at 1:30. I have the ryth the same vol all the way though which does not make sense when you have vocals etc going.

The EMG81 is bright and tight as fek (to a fault) so it may work here.

The mix needs opening up a little as there seams to be a lot going on in a small space (if that makes sense).

But the tones are good, and the end is fantastic.

Just give the instruments more room to breath and I think you are there.

Reminds me of some 90's industrial bands mixed with Devin Townsend.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. It sounds mono or something.

Drums seem a little too loud in the mix. Cool song though.

Thanks. I think lowering them will help the clarity on the guits and vocals, but I have a feeling the compression I am using is spiking the drums too much. I'll mess with it this weekend.

I like it but I don't think the recording really is a good representation of the tones you were probably getting in the room. What are you using for mics? What are you recording to?

I have the cab in a sound proof iso vocal booth. It's mic'd with an SM57 via canare cable into a Focusrite safire 14.

Fyn, what a setup for recording your amp! Judging from the lettering on the booth's windows, this is not something you built yourself right?

It's a "vocal booth plantinum" model. I got it in a trade. I made out like a bandit.
