Members Belva
I should know this. But I can't figure out how to cut the slot for a Fender type pickup switch. I know the Gibson style toggle is just as good, but I just like the look of the blade switch. For my next project guitar I'd like to do the blade switch. But you only have one shot when cutting the body for a switch. Is there a ready made template to do this or will I have to make my own? Practice a bunch first & pray? P.S. It'll be a rear route sans pickguard.
Members katillac
Why not fiddle around with some paper, a pencil and a switch? Measure, draw, measure again, draw some more. Even a cheap digital caliper can come in handy for stuff like that, especially measuring distance between the screw holes and length and width of the toggle slot. You can get fine-point mechanical pencils pretty cheap at Walmart, Target or an office supply.
