Members English Bob
I think Mrs. Bob might react adversely to that one... It's (or rather they're) all yours!
Members MahaloVision
On a bass I made for my daughter, I used 1/4" Transparent Red Plastic Rod backed with aluminum foil, which shows up really well on a maple fingerboard. Probably not so good for darker woods until the light hits it, then it's on for sure. The side dot markers were inlaid red rhinestones I got from Michael's. 1/8" hole, drop in the rhinestone, then fill it with CA glue. Once it's dry, sand and polish it up, then I hit it with the same French Polish as the rest of the neck and fingerboard. When the light hits it, it looks like there's an LED in there somewhere. Very cool.
Members dahlungril
MahaloVision, That's a great idea. I think I'll use that for the nipples at the 12th fret.

Members WRGKMC
You can get miniature colored cryatals that are flat on top at places like Hobby Lobby and other arts and crafts stores. just drill the hole and glue them in and they'll sparkle in the lights. Members noelgrassy
I took Danny Gatton's tip and inset 2mm Cubic Zirconium doodads along theside of the neck. My gurlfriend at the time was the bead Mistress with $hit-loads of Swarovski faceted CuZirx. Gatton said that these as fret markers worked so well that they would reflect the light emanating from a cigarettecherry in a darkened bar. He wasn't even exaggerating! The super secret to your eventual success isleaving just the top faceted portion slightly "proud" of the actual neck as youinsert them into the epoxy or cyanoacrylate you've delicately injected intothe side dot marker's resting place. You will be a sad grumpy {censored}loop if youdon't methodically insure the flattest portion is face up. No amount of sandingis gonna knock down a product who's hardness scale position resides just below a ding dang diamond Dad!You will be impressed at the CuZirx' functionality!! Noel Grassy. Members wu ming
Simplest way is to just paint white paint on top of the frets you want marked, it costs nothing, its easy to do and easily removed.
