Anyone know what model that Taylor is that Alan Jackson is using as his main guitar right now.I've seen it in a few videos on CMT (such as It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere with Jimmy Buffett). The Taylor is spruce topped with some kind of exotic looking back/side wood.Either Koa or Quilted MahoganyI know Jimmy is using his Shellback and Polywog series mainly right now, but he has also been using this OO/parlor all curly Koa guitar and his HD-18JB.I think Jimmy said that his first guitar was an O-18....I think it was a 1973 or 1974 O-18.I never knew they made them that late.

Are you sure it's a 610 or is it a customized/modified 610 because it has that custom inlay.I thought it was a 600 series based custom guitar....but I wasn't quite sure what that back and side wood was on it.I have got to get on the Taylor Forum....and I have got to get a Taylor.

"Hi TRSUNDOWN,

I play acoustic guitar for Alan Jackson and the guitar that Alan was playing is a custom shop Taylor his wife had made for him 2 years ago. It is based on a 610. It has AAA quilted maple back and sides, Sitka top and a custom inlay of Blue Marlin at the 12th fret. Alan is a avid big game fisherman.

The Taylor I was playing is a custom shop 910. It has the Cindy inlay pattern, Sitka top and Indian rosewood back and sides. It also has koa binding and a koa backstrap. and the ES system. This was the first TV show I have been able to test drive the ES system on. It seemed to sound very nice on the playback....listened to it on a bad hotel TV though :-O

You can see pics of both these guitars on my website here:

Tom,

from a pros point of view, whats with the expression system? I have the worst time mixing it live on a 410 limited and Windham Hill. It stays nasal regardless of eq. Do you have a helpfull pointer in dealing with the expression system to better effectivness?

thanks:)

Sorry guy,

I'm not Tom. But you can find him on the Taylorforum.com or his own web-site.
