Members teater
I'm looking for a cutaway acoustic without electronics around $1200.00 The only thing I have found in that range is the Seagull Artist series with spruce top, solid rosewood back, and laminated rosewood sides (laminated sides are fine). Has anyone here played one? Any other suggestions that meet my critera. Thanks.
Members irpacynot
Larrivee 03 models & Breedlove Atlas series models. Seagull is of course a good choice, IMO. Martin 16 models also might squeeze into that budget.
Members EvilHippy
Are you looking for new, or used? I think the Martin 16,17, and 18 models are my favorites that are currently being produced by Martin. It's gotta be older Martin models for anything else in the standard line for me, I think the new ones aren't as good and people seriously underestimate 70s Martins.... they are a great value due to people not wanting them because of reputation. ~EH

Members tikabear
Like someone else said, Larrive makes a cutaway without electronics in their "L" series ("LV" = cutaway) and maybe in their "O"series in your price range. Check their website. I have their DV-03R without electronics and I love it. It's no longer made.Good luck!
Members teater
The Larrivee LV series cutaways all have electronics. The 5's & om's have the cutaways without electronics but cost more than my limit. That has been my dilemna. Every cutaway without electronics is beyond 1200. Thanks anyway. Members tikabear
Sorry about that. I could have sworn they made one when I was doing your exact search for myself last summer! Keep checking Ebay unless you want a new one. Again, Good luck!
Members WGH
These never get mentioned here. I have a friend who has one and it sounds and plays fine. Personally, I have a hard time getting past the look...but to each their own. http://www.wechterguitars.com/models/index.htm
Members 54merk
http://www.larrivee.com/content/products/guitars/specs/LV-05/LV05MH0.php 05 Series Larrivees such as this LV05 or an OM05 list for $2049 without electronics. You can get 40% off this guitar online so that brings it down to about $1225. That is what you wanted to spend, isn't it?

Members foolishpride
You can get a Tacoma DM14C for around $1000. All solid wood. Mahogany back and sides. Solid spruce top. Ebony bridge and fingerboard. And the best thing of all, it's made right here in the good old U.S.A.
