Members UGB
Ok, not knowing how to play this or how it's supposed to be played, I just knocked out a quickie demo. http://ultimategarageband.com/hotlinks/tiple1.mp3 My dad has a uke chord book in the case, so I learned 4 chords. That's all you need, right? The touch on this thing is tricky. It's really easy to press too hard and get it sharp. Some tuning keys are very stiff while others are very lose, and they buzz, which drives me crazy. I'm going to need to learn how to service them and do it. I think that, clean up the fingerboard and some new strings and that's as good as I can get it.

Members guitarcapo
That's easily worth over a grand. Brazilian Rosewood and not currently made by Martin. Are you sure you want to work on it yourself?
Members UGB
I don't know that I need to do anything mechanical or structural to it. The fingerboard needs cleaning and the tuning keys need some work. I'm going to guess that at most, I'd have to totally disassemble the tuning keys, clean them, lube them, put them back together, then adjust them for consistent tension and make sure they move freely. It that complicated? Am I risking anything to the instrument? btw, from another thread on this on another site, a guy gives me some auction and sales links that put this particular instrument in at $2k.
