BR-40, 60, 70 have laminate sides and backs.

BR-140, 160, 180 are all solid woods.

If you want to try out the other models but can't get hold of them locally, Folk of the Wood has some good audio/video clips of several Blueridge models. I wouldn't recommend buying from them at the moment, but the clips are helpful...

Also... If you have a thing for solid Brazillian Rosewood, the Blueridge model is BR-280. It retails for about $2k. Not cheap, but quite inexpensive for all solid Brazillian Rosewood. Still, whether or not any actual tonal benefits of Brazillian Rosewood merit its generally stellar pricing and rep is arguable. Personally, I don't get it.

All of the Blueridge guitars have solid

spruce tops.

If it has two numbers -- such as the BR-60,

then it has laminate back and sides.

If it has three numbers starting with a 1,2,or 3

then it has solid wood back and sides:

BR-140, BR-160, BR-243etc.

If it ends in a "3," then it's an OM/000 size:

BR-43 (laminate OM), BR-143, BR-163, etc.

If it ends in a "0," then it is a dreadnought

size: BR-160, BG-140, BR-60, etc.

If it starts with a "BG" then it has a Gibson-esque

24.75" scale. All "BR" models have a 25.5"

scale.

Full disclosure: I'm selling a Blueridge BR-143 OM/000 guitar over in the "Trading Post."
