Members ChrisH Posted July 7, 2005 Members Posted July 7, 2005 Hi there, I just bought an Egmont acoutic guitar. My seller told me it is from the ending 50's or beginning 60's. But the only fact, I found out about Egmont, is that is a dutch company. Does anyone know something else about this product or where to find some further infos? Thanks

Members Terry Allan Hall Posted July 16, 2005 Members Posted July 16, 2005 Oh, wow...I owned that very model (or a very similar one) back about 1970... Basically, Holland's answer to Harmony/Kay...Sold through S.G. Kresges dept. store (I think these later became the 1st K-Marts, btw)...cost $42 brand new, laminated pressed tops and back, laminated sides, baseball bat neck (that's still straight) w/ a "zero fret", surprisingly decent tone. I later installed a DeArmond "Gold-tone" P/U and studied jazz w/ it. Gave it to a buddy's kid many years ago...he still has it and it still plays decently.
