Members Old_Joe_Clark
long story (omitted) short story:I was looking at my 5th string vibrate while illuminated solely by flourescent light. It had a wierd "wobble" to it that I've never seen before. I've never viewed it just under flourescent before. I was in my basement so there was no light coming in from any windows....just flourescent. So I did the arithmetic and sure enough, it's not far from 120 Hz, which is about how fast a flourescent light is turning on and off. It's far enough off of 120 that you can see the beats...just like you can hear beats of two close tones. So I was thinking that maybe the light is acting like a strobe and is interfering with my view of the vibrating string. Anyone else see this?
