Members daklander
the FanTaStick Western from K&K Sound? Anyone had a chance to compare to other under saddle pickups such as the Dean Markley Sweet Spot? I know K&K recommends a pre-amp and Markley claims no pre-amp is needed. Members STEELSTRINGS
I've never tried one but check out the product reviews on this website. I was just comparing the KK pure western mini to bband and Dean Markley.
Members guitapick
That's a new one to me...but I've heard nothing but good things about the K&K line. I've got a B-Band UST on my classical with a preamp built into the endpin. I'm considering a K&K mini pure for my Martin. I'd definitely get the preamp with it. Incidentally: from what I've heard from Dieter over at K&K; they recommend the preamp but don't feel that it's a must. The sound without it is good, but just not as good as with the preamp. Lots of pickups fall into that camp. I've never played the Markley...but it wouldn't surprise me if that's the case for that one, too. Bob
Members pathofspirit
I have a pure western mini in my ej-200. I don't know if there was a problem with the job done by the tech who installed it but it definitely needed the preamp to be heard. However, I'm using the Pure XLR preamp from K&K and it sounds great.
