Members rickoshea
this is one I just can't get my head around The verse and chorus pattern has me tearing my hair out. I think the high E, D and A strings are being muted as he frets when he hits the first chord then he's muting between strokes with the fret hand and not palm muting? If anyone can explain/analyse this for me maybe I can avoid total hair loss here's the link : http://spytunes.co.uk/Tunes/Level-2/starman.html
Members kevincarlson
Take a closer look at the neck & bridge. The pick is being held sideways for a " snap" effect instead of using the tip but if you notice , the left hand is "choking" the strings. Watch the ring finger how it's layed across he fret board as a mute in combo with the thumb which is actually creating more of the rhythm then the picking hand because it's being choked out in the middle of a pick strum
Members rickoshea
yeah .. thats what I thought but I can't seem to get it - I'm probably "rhythmically deficient" ... or in not politically correct speech ... a complete clutz when it comes to muting like this lol. Thanks though
