Members darkwaters
I use thumb pick or bare thumb depending on the sound I'm going for. Can't say I ever had a problem adjusting to a thumb pick. It felt pretty natural once I found ones that fit tightly (but not too tightly). I use a Dunlop medium. Members Krash
Have you tried playing with one of thumbpicks that like like a regular pick? They're made by Herco as well. I tried them, but they keep coming loose on me.Those really aren't suitable as thumbpicks - loose fit, wrong shape. I use them for flat picking when I can't hold a regular pick. Also, they're only available in one material (celluloid, IIRC) - not my favorite.
Members Bert
I'm a 12 stringer and I use a "speed" thumb pick. It has a springy, thin tip on it and the sound matches my ernie ball "picky-pickies".....Bert Delap
Members min7b5
I use either the Golden Gate x-heavy, which I file down and buff, or a Kelly slick X-heavy polycarb. Thumb picks take along time to get used to. There's pros and like, like with everything else. I use if for my solo fingerstyle jazz work, but not for classical.
