Members blazinsun59
I think there is a website about Ventura guitars....but have tried to find it ...no luck... Is there anyone who could point me in the right direction?I have owned this guitar for 10 years...know nothing about it other than it was made in Japan; probably in the 1960's. Members Bitt81
I owned the same model for a couple of years. Seemed to be a pretty run-of-the-mill Japanese entry level 12er. All laminate top and body. Mine had seen much better days but served to satisfy my 12 string gas for a while. I ended up giving it away to a friend. Members daklander
That's more than likely from the '70s. They were imported by C Bruno & Son and are a decent guitar. I have an old Bruno 12 string and a V-6 six string.
Members Brokepick
Here's probably what you're looking for, such as it is: http://www.catoosatrading.com/ventura_guitar.html This place has some good stuff too, but they want to charge you for it:http://www.vintaxe.com/catalogs_japanese_ventura.htm Google Ventura guitars, and you'll find lots of stuff about them on the blogs and forums. I've sort of developed a fixation on Ventura guitars. As best as I can find out, they were all made in the seventies and early eighties. Mostly Martin and Gibson clones. Some are under the Bruno name, some aren't. They are pretty good guitars. Being thirty and forty years old, they can have their share of age related issues tho. Be aware that there is some importer currently importing Chinese made guitars and putting the Ventura name on them. AFAIK, they have no affiliation with the original makers, other than using the name. I don't know about a V-16, but I have a V-17 12'er. It has a solid spruce top, and laminated hog back and sides. It's a sweet guitar.
