Members Fred Fartboski
The discussion of her recent autobiography "Society's Child" was a bit dry, but the end of the program was a real treat when she played "At Seventeen" by herself on acoustic guitar. Her voice and playing sounded as good as ever.
Members rjoxyz
That is my least favorite (much radio play) on "Between the Lines". The album itself has been a staple of mine (and now my wife) since it was released in the mid-70's. Damn fine acoustic guitar, too. I've had the songbook for about 30 years. The lyrics are a little weird for a male to sing, but I love playing the music. I recently downloaded a fairly recent live album of hers and it is very, very good. Members Gary Blanchard
Janis Ian is one of those often overlooked singer/songwriters. I had the Society's Child LP when it was first released and was very impressed.
Members Starrshine
I saw it over the weekend and thought their discussion was interesting. She has her head on straighter than I had imagined. She has aged, as we all have, but her singing and playing was quite good. Bob
