Members J.Paul
I'm having alot of problems tuning during shows lately...I'm using a Taylor 414 and Fishman Aura Spectrum (or Boss TU12).........the vibrations from the music of the show (band, DJ, PA in general) are resonating through the wood causing the tuner not to be able to recognize a note (maybe??). Does anyone have a resolution? (no guessing or speculation please).
Members Alan Roberts
Get a good tuner that clamps onto the headstock. There's still sympathetic vibration there, but not like there is at the body. Or you could try using a soundhole mute. You're not getting any of your tone from there if you have an under saddle PuP, anyway. It would also cut way back on feedback/howl if there's a lot of volume on stage - whether it's from the band or some other source.
Members acousticdepot
Like AR suggests a clip on may work better. But not the gogo TT-1, it had the same problem, where the snark SN-1 worked fine. Also, if they turn off the monitors that point back at you while the prerecorded music plays, that will help as well. Members J.Paul
Thanks folks, that confirms my suspicions.I'd been requesting a clip-on tuner (that is normally 100 bucks or so) for the last 2 months from an endorsement thing and the response has been slow (figures) ....Maybe I'll just buy the 10 dollar version out of pocket (to go with my Pitchblack, Boss TU-12, Fishman Aura Spectrum and whatever OTHER tunes I already have).
