Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted December 5, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 5, 2012 I'm pretty sure this is a USA model, well 99% sure, but how is the 162 regarded?I've had one on saved search for a while and one has just come up at 350GBP, and while it's higher than I'd like to pay, if it's worth it I can move something out.....and it's a 1965
Members Terry Allan Hall
Absolutely made in Chicago! Production year(s) : 1940-1971 (other years possible, not verified)Spruce or Cedar top (on some late models) - Stenciled rosette from 1971 - Mahogany version is H165 - older models (before ca. 57') had a different, more rounded "figure eight" body, and a "pinless" bridge. Very early models (before 1942) were sold among the "Master" line, as evidenced by the headstock logo - A very popular model, with at least 30 years of production time !http://harmony.demont.net/guitars/H162/87.htmI REALLY love the pre-57 models, with this more "volupuous" body shape:
