Definitely. The shop I go to most often is right round the corner from my office. I'm on good terms with the counterman there. I've bought an old Yamaha acoustic there and the occasional CD. The last time I was in some kids were looking at some import guitar and it turned out he hadn't priced it yet. He looks over at me and says "What should this go for?" I told him I really wasn't familiar with that model but given what I did know about it I'd say between $100 and $200. He looks at the kids and says: "I'll let it go for $150." A few minutes later I found a CD and was gonna buy it but he was busy with another customer. So he just said "That one's on the house, you come in here all the time." He also will immediately tell me his "real" price rather than what's marked because he knows I know what stuff is worth. BK
