Members Tonally Anal
I'm really close to buying one even though the shape is kinda funky...i wonder about the P-90's though - do they sound similar to the Gibson ones, or are they closer to the stock Jazzmaster ones? If i were to swap them out would both types fit, or only one? Thanks!

Just an FYI, but Jazzmasters do not have P90's. They just look like them.
Members jjpistols
They sound nothing like Jazzmasters, but they sound pretty damn good. Nice guitar, nicer price.

Members jjpistols
Not without modification. The P90s are a different size, and the body is routed for P90s. If you're handy with a Dremel, I guess it wouldn't be too big a deal. If you want to capture a JM sound, you really need a JM. Nothing else I've seen does it. If you can do the bodywork, this will get you far closer than anything I know of could. The trem and bridge in a JM are nearly as important to the sound as the pups. The SX has everything but the electronics. As far as P90 sound goes, these rock.
