Members AtomHeartMother
Are these any good for someone whose never played one before? I just love Dave Gilmours lap steel playing, which has inspired me to learn. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/518800/
Members Wyatt
I expect the hardware and electronics are poor. But, the fact is, there is nothing rocket science about making a lap steel. So, it should play fine (as long as the tuners hodl tune). For $60, what the hell? You can switch out hardware and electronics on an as need basis. Just a few years agao, you could buy any vintage lap steel you want for $300 or less...Supro/Valco/Oahu, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Fender. Now they have become very popluar again and prices are rising. It's a whole different technique than spanish-style guitar, expect to work your way up from scratch and to have to get a few videos on the subject if you want to be able to sit in with a band that expects traditional steel guitar work. But they are easy to start out on. -Y.
