Members hi.flyer
Hi fine DJ forumites of the DJ forum! I come to you with a basic noob query: what kind of gear would I need to get into turntablism? Not beat-juggling and party-rocking; I'm talking about more of a battle/scratch kind of thing. Real-time sample manipulation. What kind of gear would I need? Offer any suggestions with an eye towards thriftiness, quality, and efficacy. Eventually I will need tips as to how to operate the damn things, but let's take this one step at a time; we're not there yet.
Members 6ftabovsealevel
an eye towards thriftiness, quality, and efficacy. As far as dj gear goes, the forces of thriftiness are constantly at odds with those of quality and efficacy. If you expect a lot in department, you should also expect to take a beating in the other. That's not to say that there isn't decent gear out there at reasonable prices, but you have to be careful what you buy. Unfortunately before we can help you do that you need to tell us how much money you have to spend.
