Members musicofthemind9 Posted May 18, 2005 Members Share Posted May 18, 2005 1st question: does the electronics in a mex. strat(i mean besides the pus) really that much different than in the am. and am. deluxe. 2nd question: what kind and size strings do you usually use. because so far ive hated every kind of strings ive had. i play stuff like lynrd skynrd, nirvana, pink floyd, and the like. thanx! Members Blackface Posted May 19, 2005 Members Share Posted May 19, 2005 Well, the pickups in the American models are alnico as opposed to ceramic on most of the Mexican models. My American strat has a tone pot controlling the bridge pickup with a detent to totally bypass it and I don't think any Mexican strats have that. Also some of the new American ones have the "S1" switching system. As for the strings, you're going to have to try a bunch of different brands and sizes until you find ones that you like.
