Members dougbeens
I don't often see others around here who play an Artist... Personally, I'm playing a 2001 AR-250 and I absolutely love it. There are some pictures of it in my signature if you care to take a gander. (post your own pics if you've got'em!)
Members tiger roach
Nice guitar! I've always liked those. I was hoping to audition one when I bought my guitar recently but all they had were the lower-end Ibanezzes.
Members rambleon223
GUILTY!!!! I have an '80 Artist (I think it's an AR100) that I slapped some Fralin humbuckers in, along with new tone pots (coil taps) and it's one of my favorite guitars I've ever owned!!!! I don't have many pics (and am ignorant in regards to posting any of that stuff anyway) but I'll try to dig one or two up or take a couple tonight and post 'em! Members the russ
i play them almost exclusively. '77 2617 (ash model) and an '82 AR200? (quilt-top tobacco burst. never seen another remotely like it.)
Members ty8198
I am guilty of 2 Artists. I liked my first one, AR-250, so much that I ended up buying one of the high end Ar-2000s. Both are sweet playing guitars, at least equals of the majority of Les Pauls I've played. Without further ado here are the pics. Heres the whole family together By the way, the Ar-250 is for sale if anyones interested
Members Boinker
Nope. Love to have one, though.
Members Fusion1
Is that a PAF Pro in the neck of that AR-2000? What Duncan is in the bridge? Duncan Distortion? Custom? JB? Whats that black ring on the bottom of the 3-way switch? Was that stock or modded?
Members ty8198
Yea you got it, PAF Pro in the neck. The bridge has a Duncan Pearly Gates in it. The Pearly Gates gives a great sound with a lot of crunch, however it is a little overly senstive on the treble. Nothing a little tweaking can't fix. Highly reccomended for any artist guitar. The black ring on the toggle is just a rubber ring that came stock.
Members DrBolt
on the AR-250, both pickups are faced the same way (polepieces on the bridge side)--unusual arrangement. Did it come that way, or is it set up that way at your bidding? If so, why? (just curious)
Members ty8198
I was unaware that this is unconventional, the polepieces are supposed to be facing eachother?
Members rod truss
I have an 80s Artist. My first real guitar. Plays like a dream still; I finally realized that I don't need that Les Paul I was jonesing for all those years (would still like one though...) Sorry, no pics
Members ThomasD
I had an AR-50. It was a nice guitar but something about it and me just didn't match. I tried various pickups swaps but eventually ended up passing it on to someone else. Hopefully it has found a happy home.
