Members geddins81
Binding? On the neck? Is it a double cut? Did you get the serial #? I'd like to know more.
Members silverkw
I believe Agile double cuts have neck and body bindings. at least mine does.
Members dughaze
get the serial number and email it to Gibson. They will verify the the guitar's hardware and maybe they can assess the value or at least with the serial number do some more investigating to find out what it's worth. They do this online. Unless there's some value I don't know about for that year it may not be worth much being messed with like it has been. Then again, maybe it's worth $1000 or two or more??? '70's Specials had binding on the neck. And I believe they were all single cut. But $750 seems high for a guitar that will need a $400-500 refinish. I still trun into '70's Specials in the $800-1000 range that are in very good condition. -Y.
Members geddins81
Thanks Wyatt. I do like those singlecut Specials, but I agree, one needing a refinish isn't worth what they're asking...IMO
Members Richard Guy
In 1974 Gibson put out a '55 Special. It had a Les Paul single cut shape, binding on the neck and two soapbars with a wrap bridge, dot in-lays and two piece slab mahogany body.
