Members unistudent1980
I assume you mean the active EMG's. If your guitar doesn't have active EMG's in you will have to rout an extra cavity for the battery. Pickup of choice for the Metal guys the EMG 81 and EMG 85 being most popular. If your after the high gain style stuff this is your cup of tea. Most people here have used Seymour Duncans The JB and Jazz being the most common. With good reason as you can get a wide range of tones with it. What do you play and who do you listen to. Look at what they use for some guidance. Look at your own amp as well as this contributes to the signal produced. I'm no expert here so don't take my word as gospel. PS. There are no real pros and cons. It all depends on what you want. Members StratTone
I can say a con for an EMG active pickup. Expect to fall in love with them at first but realize later that the highs are a bit sterile. I love my 81 and 85 but they are kind of one trick ponies.
