'51 Squier neck pup set up ?

I have just one of the few '51 Squiers that Batotman didn't buy for ebay :D , and I have this question:

My neck pup is oddly angled. It's got about a 10 degree angle in it towards the bridge. Instead of being higher on one side than the other, its higher on the neck side than it is on the bridge side.

I figure this probably isn't affecting the tone much, but it is a little sloppy looking, and I'm curious if this is common and how the heck are these pickups mounted to the pickguard without the side screws?

Can you adjust the neck pup?

I just took my '51 apart last night and the neck pickup is mounted like a Tele pup, directly to the body (little piece of foam underneath).

You'd have to pull the guard to get at it and adjust.

Are there any height adjustment screw down there?

Looking at my Peavey tele, it's got them on the side.

They're really not height adjustment screws, per se, they are designed to tighten the pickup against the bottom of the cavity. There is a little play in the dense foam rubber pad, so you can get a little adjustment there.
