Members Gravity
I just ordered a MIM Sage Green Maple Fat Strat from MF. What with all the coupons links and codes floating around on here, I just couldn't resist. So of course I'll give it some major play-age before I make any modification decisions. But what humbucker do you think would give it the most guts? I'm not talking about metal. I'm thinking more along the lines of heavy/hard rock with medium gain. What could make it sound fat ? Members mightysasquatch
I have a MIM Fender Fat Strat, and I have a Gibson 500T in the bridge. It is wired to a three way mini-switch to coil split and put it out of phase. It rules............

There are lots of others I like but that seems the best all around. I really like my EMG SLV's and 85 though.
Members Alchemist
try the hot EMG HZ pickups, I am thinking of redoing an H/S/H superstrat ibanez with those, not one of the most common PU's you see, but they have great tone, nice looks and the pin connectors are handy
Members vexed73
I think the super distortion is too thin sounding. The breed is hot with great harmonics and still has great articulation and fat tone.

Members vexed73
If I am not mistaken that is what came on my Strat HM. I traded it out for a fred and thought it was much better. The super distortion is kind of normal sounding with no real character. Sounds like most "hot" pickups they put in import guitars. I would recomend the PAF Pro before the super distortion. If it isnt the pickup I am thinking of then my apologies I do not know what I am talking about.
