Members Tosis Maguill
So here's the deal:I'm getting a custom guitar built...And of course, I have my choice of woods. However, I know nothing about a couple of these body materials, and need some help with choosing the right one.The choices are: AshAlderMapleMahogonyKorina Black Korina What I'm looking for is a wood that can support a bright tone, but can still maintain the lows, while still being resonant and light-weight. Thanks for any help.

Members Tosis Maguill
Well, I'm going through custom shop. He just told me that it depends on my tastes on what qualities I want from the guitar; and after telling him, he recommended ash. I was just trying to get a few more peoples' opinions. Members Darkstorm
Alder & poplar are good choices for that. If you want that in more the Dream Theater, Steve Vai, etc style way, then add basswood to your list.
