Members VanLaing5150
Hey, new member here, how do I go about diconnecting the tone pot on my guitar. I play a peavey wolfgang and I dont use it and I've heard it has some effect on the guitar's tone so I would like to experiment and disconnect it and see what if any effect it has. Thanks... Members Wyatt
On most guitars the only thing connecting the Tone control to the wiring is a the bypass capacitor (or sometimes a jumer wire to the cap) that comes from the Volume control. Just clip the cap/wire with wire snippers, disconnecting the tone pot. You'll notice a little brighter tone. -Y.
