Members betal fan
I have a Zoom MRS1608 16-Track Digital Recording Studio, which was given to me by a friend who no longer wanted it. I checked it out on the net and it seems to be relativley expensive. Does anyone have anyexperience with this? Pros? Cons? It only has 1 XLR connector and the rest of the inputs are 1/4" regular input jacks. I guess my question is: Is this for a 1 person at a time recording, or can my band record on this? Please help. Members UstadKhanAli
http://www.zzounds.com/item--ZOMMRS1608 It has the capability to record eight tracks simultaneously, according to this web site, so yeah, I'd say you can use it for a band. You could get some mic preamps (Mackie or something else that's inexpensive) and go straight in through the line inputs if you need to record with microphones. Members betal fan
Thanks for the info. The instruction book does a very poor way of telling how each of us (4) can record separately and then put all the tracks together. Can anyone help? Members UstadKhanAli
Well, the most obvious way would be to put one mic on each person (each person gets his or her own channel). Then, start mixing. Does that help, or am I goin' for too easy of an answer?
Members Bob Keelan
I find that the biggest help with new gear can be a product-specific forum. Looks like this might be one for you: http://www.2090.org/zoom/bbs/index.php
