Members bleedblack
I fitted a set of Zakk Wylde emg's to my les paul custom (81 and 85) and now when i'm using high gain settings, i'm getting a ground loop hum coming through when I take my hands off the strings.(I discconected the excisting earth wire as instructed) Also when i roll off the bridge volume, i can still hear a little signal coming through. But this goes away when i turn the neck volume down!!!!???I think it also sounds a little "thin and slightly out of phase' compared to my other emg fitted guitars.WTF!!??Anybody got an idea what's going on? Members acravero
Make sure your bridge is not grounded. You actually have to remove the ground wire from the bridge when you install EMGs. Check that you used all 25k pots (not the usual 250k or 500k). These should have been supplied with your EMGs. Also, make sure all the solder connections are good and that you have installed the proper jack--they require a stereo jack to turn on the 9v power. Lastly, make sure all the quick connectors are properly connected (under the pickups).
