Members Borderline
Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can pickup some of this MinWax wipe on poly I keep hearing about? If not does anyone know of any suitable alternatives available here in blighty?
Members leftystratman
I heard Homedepot carries it, but I'm not sure if you guys have Homedept in the UK. I bought mine at Canadian Tire. the hype is true! it is easy to apply, and I love how it turned out so far.
Members Tundra_Man
For a cheaper version of essentially the same thing, get the regular poly and thin it 50% with either mineral spirits or naphtha. I prefer naphtha as it dries quicker and allows to to recoat sooner. Only thin what you need for the project, save the rest for next time. If you've ever used polyurathene, once you go wipe-on you'll never go back. By using wipe-on, you'll have to apply twice as many coats because each coat is half as thin, but it's worth it as it's a lot easier to get even coats with no brush marks.
