Members Reaxis
hey everyone- i was wondering for those who have the ibanez s470 (2 humbuckers and a single coil) if you like the stock pickups.. if not- what pickups did you upgrade to? Im thinking of seymour duncans.. but im not too familiar with combinations, and what is usually done in terms of which to pick for this particular guitar. I appreciate the input! jimmy www.myspace.com/reaxis
Members GAS Man
I'd say either a Custom 5 or a Custom for the bridge. The latter is ceramic and will be a little hotter. The first is warmer and will have a little more bottom end. Maybe a cool rails for the mid single. And possibly a '59 for the neck. I see a lot of shred style guitars using the "Jazz" for the neck for greater "articulation" of individual notes. You could also go DiMarzio and do a PAF Pro or Joe in the neck and a Fred in the bridge. A VirtuAL 2 in the middle.
Members Derelict King
I'd like to see this thread get a few more replies because I am considering the same thing (but I am leaning towards EMGs). Are there any S470 owners in the house that care to chime in? DK
