Members J.B. Lee
I've got a 335 copy and I'm just wanting a little more "bite" out of the tone. I'm aware that pickups are likely to blame, but could using a different set of strings give me a little of what I'm looking for? I'm using GHS Boomers (11-50) right now, but I don't know where they fall on the tone scale.
Members JDE
I don't know what Boomers are made of - Stainless Steel strings are said to be the brightest - try Fender 350's, Gibson Brite Wires or Ernie Ball Stainless Steel Slinkys. The Fenders and the Gibsons are very bright and toppy to my ears. D' Addario also make stainless steel strings, but i've never tried them.
