Good bass playing is about Rhythm and groove, not about how many notes you can play per second. That's why guitarists rarely make good bass players. It's a whole art in it's self and often gets overlooked.

I'm sure I will get flamed for posting this, but I don't care. Ryan Martinie is a {censored}ing solid player, with a great mix of groove and technicality. I think this song is a great example of this

This is just another shred vs the world thread in disguise!

If you like crazy bass solos and 3453bpm licks, then more power to you.

If you like simple grooves, 2 note bass lines, or anything slower than carpet, more power to you.

CAN'T WE ALL JUST APPRECIATE THE MUSIC?
