Members street survivor Posted July 31, 2006 Members Share Posted July 31, 2006 i think the greatest scale/theory book EVER put out, which i learned most of my scale stuff from, but, unfortunately out of print that i know of, is by the old studio wizz TOMMY TEDESCO!! it is called FOR GUITAR PLAYERS ONLY! covers every scale you could EVER want to play. Members dwerlin Posted July 31, 2006 Members Share Posted July 31, 2006 start with this, it'll take you a long way:http://www.worldguitar.com/minorpent.html basically, in that picture the "A" is your root note...so depending on what key you want to play in, use that exact formation and just move it around on the fret board. so, if you wanted to use that scale for the key of "G", you'd make the red "A" in that picture the 3rd fret on the low E string.
