Members woodsmandan
I think Peavey somewhat improved their tube sockets at some point to get rid of the buzzing, or did they ? Did the circuit evolve with the years, and if so , in what way and wich one is the best / worst ? (you know, like the Blues Jr green/beige circuit boards...) I have a few used one under investigation, I will try them all, but it would be helpful to know.. Thanks!

Members Kneel Diamynd
I know the one I have is visually different from the most recent offering. I got it used and it had or developed a buzz on one of the power tubes. I pulled the chassis (rather awkward and serpentine configuration) out and did some solder work on the tube socket pins which cleared up the buzz. I thought the cardboard sheet on the bottom of the reverb tank was a goofy design. However, I had never pulled a reverb tank before that so don't know if that's standard. Maybe the previous owner or some shop tech did it for some reason. Anyhow, I like the amp.
Members fishfartz
I had an older one and newer oneI do think they even had a different build/layout inside but dont quote me on that they seemed to sound the same but I think the versions sold now days are more sturdy inside
Members bluelegacy
I have no idea if this will help at all, but here's a pic of my C30 chassis...pretty sure it's a '98. Also, the speaker was not marked, but doesn't matter now as it's been changed.
Members Kneel Diamynd
That looks remarkably similar to my chassis when I pulled it apart.
