Members Johansolo
ok guys i just got my strat body, neck and pickguard (and neckplate, and input jack) and whilst im waiting for other parts to arrive i decide to slap it together to see what it would look like... first obstacle... when i slip the neck in the neck pocket and it sits nice and flush and really tight... i can slide the pickguard under the little over handing fretboard. what should i do to make it fit... a) sand the top of the pickguard/bottom of overhanging fretboard? OR B) put hte pickguard in place and place the neck over it (it wont be flush in the neckpocket) and draw the outline of the overhanging fretboard on the pickguard and sand the pickguard down so it can fit around the neck? should i wait for the bridge to come before i do anything or just start hacking away at hte pickguard? Members Bob Duice
Wait for all the parts and then see how you feel about it,sleep on it and then take action.
Members Johansolo
yeah im going to wait for hte bridge to arrive so i can see how the pickguard aligns ups. i think im going to have to sand the pickguard down so it can just fit around the neck...instead of sliding part of it sliding underneath.
