Members OldHairyOne
Hey there Harmony-Central forum-goers! I'm looking for a way to create my own drumbeats. I've tried using ezdrummer and the loops that come with that, but I want to be able to have more personalised beats that I can make fit in with the music better. I take it that sequencers do this, so can anyone recommend me some? Also different drum sounds too. I've heard about Battery 3. Thanks!

Members nerol1st
Why not just learn how to draw in the hits yourself? That's pretty much the ultimate control.
Members chris carter
Any of the major DAWs (even the lesser ones) will allow you to program drums. Addictive Drums and BFD are good general all-around drum sounds. There are ones that catre slightly to certain genres like Drums From Hell and Steven Slate. And there are billions for hip-hop/electro/etc. drums.

What do you mean by that? And could you tell me how to program drums in Sonar 8, chris carter? Thanks!

Members nerol1st
Or there should be a way to draw the notes in with a tool somehow. Pro tools can do it, cubase can do it and I know Sonar must be able to do it, but they all do it different so I dunno how to do that exactly. Members MarvinDog
In Logic, it's create MIDI track, then double-click on track. It'll open either a score or matrix window, depending on how you set it up. In other DAWs, it should be just as easy.
