Members Bob Duice
I want to replace these with something more stylish the trouble is they dont seem to be metric at all. I am hoping someone with knowledge of the esoteria of American shapes and sizes can help me determine what i am looking for. The ones in this Vintage Split humbucker i measue with an electronic calliper and the result is 2.87mm or 0.113 inches. A Duncan Humbucker has 3.11 mm or 0.122 inches A 3mm reference screw i have measures 2.86mm or 0.112 inches. Similar to the GFS screw you say but the thread size seems a little off. Duncan uses threadforming screws with a really large thread size. The GFS are not self tappers.
Members Bob Duice
Never mind, they are 3mm. My possible replacements are too big at the head so i called it quits. Just gotta wait for the body to arrive now, what with all these newly impoverished Americans buying up our Squiers it may be some time.
Members Ryan Trevisol
What, were you trying to replace them with phillips head?
Members Bob Duice
Whatever i had laying about. Button head hex,Torx,Torx security,Countersunk hex,Phillips. Some were barely magnetic, presumably a stainless alloy.
Members whitegreyblack
No offence, but nit-picking down to the aesthetics of your pup's polepiece screws seems a bit extreme. That reminds me, though - I really shouldn't talk: I changed my black bass' pickguard screws to black ones... Seems kind of silly to me now. But boy is she pretty. Members Ryan Trevisol
I don't think changing the color of the screws is nit-picky. I did it to my dad's Epi. He had a blackburst Studio from around 95, and it was nice, but the black hardware and screws made it look depressing. So I changed everything to nickel, and the screws to stainless. It really brightens it up, makes it look a lot nicer.

Members Black Falcon
my gibby exlorer came stock w/gold screws in black uncovered pickups. I'm debating staying with this look when I swap pickups, or going with gold covers.
