Members bluewolf
I saw a used LP Studio at GC the other day they want 750 for it i could probably walk out with it for 700. Its three years old and plays well and sounds good. Ist question: Do LPStudios have a maple top or is it a carved top mahogany?? The guitar is in black finish so i couldnt really tell. I have heard that maple tops on LP's produce a meatier sound. I will probably change the pickups out anyway to a set of pearly gates or maybe some wcr pickups, or how would a humbucker sized P90's sound in it?? Would 700 be a good price?.I know the new ones go for about 1200.Any thoughts on this???
Members _pete_
If it plays good, sounds good, and the price is right, who cares what the body is made from? How it sounds is all that really matters. LP Studios are maple/mahogany BTW.
Members zac503
If it's in great shape comestically $700 is a pretty good price. If it's dinged up the dont do it. I got mine dinged all to hell for $
Members i_hate_user_names
Sounds about right I would try to get it at $700 if its black. Make sure you get some strings too( I hate Guitar center). Does it have chrome hardware? Just wondering, i think any studio looks terrible with gold hardware IMO. Members bluewolf
The pickups i am lookin at: a set of pearly gatees,, maybe a duncan 59 in the neck and a pearly gate in the bridge, maybe a set of Seth Lovers, Phat Cats, or i might try the WCR pickups, whats good for an LP Studio if you want to play blues??The guitar itself is in good shape.
