Members johngalt
Do these exists? I don't use vibrato much and don't want the Bigsby to make this guitar hard to keep in tune. I do want the sound though...so, what's the next closest thing without a Bigsby if this isn't an option?
Members Blackbelt1
Some of the Gretsch Anniversary models feature a violin tailpiece. I own 2 Gretsch guitars though, both with Bigsby's. I use the Bigsby's heavily and have no tuning issues on either guitar. Also, check out the Reverend Horton Heat live. He uses the trem in virtually every song. I don't recall ever seeing him retune on stage. ~Blackbelt
Members trinilopez
I think the Anniversary is pretty close to the Tennesee Rose, and comes without the bigsby.
Members angus_old
does it have to be a gretsch? http://www.eastwoodguitars.com/GTRs/classic6/classic6_frm.htm
Members trinilopez
Both the Anniversary and Tennessee Rose are 2.5" deep, 16" wide full hollow body guitars with 25.5" scale. That Eastwood looks to be a bit thinner, has a 24.75" scale, and it doesn't say whether it is full hollow or center block. In any case, it probably has a very different sound (though could be very nice in its own way).
Members Andre XXX
if you dont use the bigsby you wont have trouble keeping it in tune. Actually bigsby's are very nice for subtle shimmer. I had one on a gretsch for a while and loved it. You cant go crazy.......but for subtle warbling there's nothing like it. I had no trouble with tuning at all with the bigsby. Also some people would argue the bigsby adds to the tone of the guitar....... you get a whole extra steel plate on the guitar itself. It adds balls, beef and clarity.
