Peavey Valveking 112 (15 watt - $400 new)

Crate V16 Palomino (15 watt - $400 new)

Epiphone Blues Custom (30 watt - $400 new)

Fender Pro Jr. (15 watt - $300 new but doesn't have reverb)

Good summary. Add to it the Peavey Classic 30, which is still being made and sold. Price is $450 -- $550. (8th St. Music has one now for $467)

I play my LP studio baritone through a Peavey C50 212. I bought it used at an actual local music store for $250. I like it very, very much. There's something about EL84's that trips my trigger.

Also, consider a new C50 -- they commonly sell new for $675 or so. Heavier than a C30, of course, but you get a standby switch, presence, insert (effects) jacks, fan cooling and (duh) two 12 inch speakers.

Most of the time, I see the Classic 30 going for $550-$600, so I didn't add it to my list of below $500 tube amps. I hear great things about this amp though.
