Members adambomb
i have a small radius fingerboard on my strat. if i get a re-fret with tall frets, will i be able to achieve a flatter radius with a pro fret dressing?
Members toothpicvic
It would probably be easier to just get a new neck. There is a seller on ebay "reliablefender" that sells all kinds of fender necks.

Members adambomb
wow it's unanimous! thanx what if i scalloped it? so the tech would have to do something besides just a regular refret to achieve the flatter radius?

If you're going to have it refretted go ahead and get them to reshape the neck with the radius you want. My tech knows that I prefer a flatter radius and when I took a Tele to him to refret he went ahead and shapped the neck with a flatter radius. I don't think it adds that much to the cost of a refret. Members bowlingshirt
Have you checked on re-fret pricing? It can easily run $200-300. You could just get a new neck for that price, and sell your old neck to get some money back out of it.
Members midheavy
I tried that on a RI fender strat. It doesnt really help. Just get a replacement neck. thats what I did

Round here at least *just* the refret would be cheaper than a new neck, but once you get into woodworking - reshaping the board - it's probably a lot dearer. It depends on how much you like that particular neck. If you love it, hav the work done on it. If you're indifferent get another one
