Members Wyatt Posted December 3, 2006 Members Share Posted December 3, 2006 The G&L MFD pickup is hotter than vintage Tele PU's and have less 60-cycle hum. The idea behind the MFD is getting more powerful from each winding and using fewer windings, resulting less hum. The result is a pickup that is a little hotter and more lively than vintage Fender single coils. Do they still twang? Yes, but it is a slightly different twang.
