Members docjeffrey
My new Riviera 12 has the following serial # T 403997 T = Terada. Is that one of the good ones? What other guitars did they make in the past? ________ This is from Terada's website: "2002 Terada builds Epiphones which are still made in Japan, although most are now made by Samick in Korea. The Terada factory is now building Epiphone and Thumb brand guitars."
Members Lawton
They make current Gretsch higher end models there now, as well as the Epi Elitists. You also have alot of Orvilles coming out of Terada, and some of the better MIJ Fender models, too, I believe. A hushed truth is that the Epi "USA" models (Lennon Casinos, JL Hooker Sheratons) are actually made there (side by side with the Elitist models of the same guitar), but sent to Nashville for lacquer and electronics. Yes, it's a good fab.

Some are made by Fuji Gen Gakki (JF serial numbers). Terada makes great stuff. So does FGG.
