Members philbo
My kid has this game Donkey Conga, where you have a pair of bongos as the controller, and a huge selection of songs to play along with. And the percussion arrangements are actually pretty good for the most part. But what's really cool is that the music doesn't suck. The original version of the game covers everything from Wille Nelson to Aretha to Punk to Genesis to Classical to whatever. Really wide-ranging. A great way to get exposed to a tremendous collection of tunes, while learning to play percussion, while having fun. And my 16 year old son loves it. Unfortunately, the sequel has much less exciting music. It looks like Sony picked them or something - bland, tasteless and uninspired crap-pop, and a lot of what A&R types like to call "R&B" (like the whining nasal singing of Destinys Child, for example). It'd be cool if they put out versions of the game targeted toward real genres instead of flavor-of-the-day artists... Like blues, jazz, modern classical & so on... Hmmmm.... Might have to pick up one to hack apart & play with.
