Members Brittanylips
Does anyone know if Rosetta (Apple's PowerPC emulation used in the new intel Macs) will pass along MIDI data? I know that Rosetta isn't perfect, particularly regarding altivec and hardware calls. But MIDI seems murky. So, any Apple-heads know if applications that rely on MIDI will break under Rosetta? Members amplayer
I'm no Apple-head, but it seems to me there's no reason even to bother with music apps whether they be MIDI or Audio or both until they run native.Nevertheless, since MIDI is such a low bandwidth app, it seems they'd get that running smoothly in a reasonable time frame. Members Brittanylips
You would think, but MIDI can be tempermental, even when not dealing with emulation, so the likelihood that it will work just fine under Rosetta is still up in the air. maybe the only way we'll know is when the MacIntels start dribbling into the commmunity, and bleeding edge users report back on their experience. -PL&B
