I am building a jackson soloist with the following specs: 2 piece Alder Body TOM bridge thru body A seymour duncan Custom (possible Single in the neck) one volume with coil tap. And if you have any suggestions or different ideas , post em. Or even better go on the guitar builder and make your suggestions come to life. This is also my first guitar so if there is any tips you might wanna give during my build process go ahead. here's a couple of pics of what it might look like:

Members SlayerofShadows
Haha, I didn't mean it in a bad way. I have nothing against bolt-ons. Plus, your design pics look like something I'd totally dig. Simple, yet effective. Nothing too extravagant. I also love the natural coloring of alder. Members bcjames
I like the mock ups you have there. Only thing id suggest is mount the HB to the body rather than a ring, would really suit the clean natural look of it all.

Members peavey_impact
Definitely do H/S. It just opens up even more possibilities for ass-kicking
Members mnhhngbfs
make it h-s-h with a coil splits and phase switches, maybe even use a hardtail strat bridge instead of tune-o-matic. hell, a tele-style bridge with a humbucker cut out would be real cool too
Members jimwratt
go with the h/s config and i'd put a kahler on it for badassery

Members stanfield
if you haven't built the neck, and if you plan to, you could always make it set neck.i think a bolt-on soloist is a cool idea though, it's something different.and if i was building that guitar, i think i'd go with the H/S pickup configuration. 1 vol, 1 tone. the other design looks slicker, but i think you'd have more fun with two pups and the extra control.
