Members Joranges
Musicians Friend stopped shipping to Canada period a while ago .. I fell asleep and most of the Gibsons, lots of accessories, ESP, bunch of other stuff are now available to Canadians from MF. When did that happen. Members Crappymonkey
Is the free shipping on items over $99 free to Canada as well?
Members Joranges
Well, I assumed they haven't updated that page yet or made an announcement since I do price check on MF quite often and didn't notice it until.. yesterday. At first I thought it was just small brands that had it but I noticed a lot of Gibsons have the thing on the product page as well. Well, I was looking at this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-SG-Standard-Electric-Guitar?sku=512749 And noticed the "Ships to Canada" at the bottom. I thought perhaps it was just one of those special things, like that Epiphone The Edge is selling but then I looked at: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Faded-Flying-V-?sku=517336 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Les-Paul-Supreme-Electric-Guitar?sku=517677 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Custom-Shop-John-Sykes-Les-Paul-Custom-Aged-Electric-Guitar?sku=517971 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Custom-Shop-John-Sykes-Les-Paul-Custom-VOS-Electric-Guitar?sku=517972 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-60s-Neck-Electric-Guitar?sku=517188 all have that "Ships to Canada" thing at the bottom as well. But then some like: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Les-Paul-Studio-Electric-Guitar?sku=517030 doesn't. Non-Gibson things on MF that also have that thing at the bottom: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ultimate-Genesis-600-Double-Guitar-Stand?sku=456337 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Dunlop-Tortex-Standard-Picks?sku=110040 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Dunlop-Nylon-Standard-Pick?sku=110020 (ESP) http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ESP-LTD-Viper-400-Electric-Guitar?sku=516660 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ESP-LTD-EC400-Electric-Guitar?sku=516662 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ESP-LTD-EC400-Archtop-Electric-Guitar?sku=516661 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ESP-H50-Electric-Guitar?sku=516683 Actually I gave them a call. They do ship things that aren't included in their FAQ page now! Hurrah!
Members CanuckKid_15
Some Epi's ship to Canada too!
Members Zeppelin Rules
I think its happened in the last couple of days. Its still really expensive to ship here though, and unless its something thats really hard to get here it ends up being not worth it.
Members Flannery
I'm glad to know they are shipping north again. If you are patient, even with the exchange and higher shipping, you can still score a pretty good deal. I saved about $120 Canadian by buying an Epiphone Dot Studio through them. It's stamped 2nd, but the only flaw I could find was some overspray in the F holes. So deals can be had.
Members Verne Andru
According to their shipping policy page, it didn't.From their shipping FAQ:Am I missing something? Could I be ordering a $349 Melody Maker like all the cool kids are doing? I was in at L&M the other day and they're pricing the MM at around the same price - $350-sh - as MF and GC. Good news is that its CDN, not USD so there's no currency conversion hit. I'm noticing the pricing between here and south to be leveling off recently. Couple of factors at play: 1] the USD is taking a serious hit on currency exchange markets and will continue to tumble in the near future. They've just printed too much paper. 2] Most goods are being manufactured in China and the CDN is much stronger against those currencies. Manufacturers drop-ship from China et. all directly to the Canadian stores, bypassing the US middle-man markups. We're heading into a really good period for getting gear cheap. I suspect before the end of the year it may actually be cheaper to buy here than in the US.

While an interesting and welcome point, what does that have to do with the "Made in USA" MM? Don't get me wrong though... if they're going to be $349 CDN, I'm all for it. They have the MM at L&M Vancouver? I didn't see any in Coquitlam or Langley today... I did see some of the Squier "Vintage Modified" stuff tho. Members Verne Andru
Well if the USD continues to drop against the CDN we could be able to get them for $199 by Christmas. No, Vancouver doesn't have them yet, but they are on order and coming to an L&M near you soon. I hear Coquitlam has an Epiphone Dove. I gotta go out there and check it out. They still across from the CP yards? I used to run trains out of there back in another life.
Members dsquared
They moved from that little shoebox sized stripmall store on Coquitlam ave, to a big new standalone building on Dominion ave back in... I think September last year. It's still a screwed up "you can see us from Lougheed highway, but we ain't on it" location. I didn't see the Epi Dove, but I only gave the acoustics a very quick look. Members JeffFlowerday
I'd buy from MF but L&M prices are so close I'd rather try before buy.
Members Zerimas
I am contemplating ordering some Dimarzio pickups from MF, as they are unreasonably expensive here in Canada. When any of you ordered from MF where stuck with a lot of fees in the way of shipping and/or duty? If the fees are too high I'll have search the Bay . Members Armitage
Canadian distributors complained that Musicians friend was bypassing them, so they demanded that Musicians Friend stop shipping to Canada. Also Canadians who got a problem products were trying to get the Canadian distributor to fix stuff they weren't responsable for.
