Members tomh777
I have an Ibanez Artcore. I was going to go out this morning and get new pots for it. I am planning on putting a set of P-90's in it in November but until then I want to get it back together today with new pots. Could someone advise me as to the value of the pot I need. Would 500k work with the P-90. I do not know what is in it and it is a hollow body so it will be a relative pain in the ass just to pull one to look. Thanks, Tom
Members Quarter
I like wiring P90's with 500k pots and a .047 cap myself.
Members Leisure Lee
I would think it has 500k pots in it already 500k is what you should go with
Members toomuchgeardave
You should already have 500k pots in the Artcore (unless they were previously replaced, which is unlikely). Those will be just fine and actually are usually recomended for P-90s'. Really no need to replace them unless you like the taper of another brand (or if they're bad). Members emidora
Higher valued pots produce brighter sounds and vice versa. That's why 500K is recommended for humbuckers and 250k for single coils to balance the tone. I'm not sure about P-90s, but aren't they single coils too? Members mark7171
i completely disagree with leisure lee try a 250k push/ pull volume . wire the push/ pull on as a mid scoop with a cap. use a 1meg ohm pot for tone with a .033 tone cap. try the mallory 600v poly cap.
